The actor told The Independent: "There’s this idea for a series I had six or seven years ago.

"One of my ex-wives sat on it, and unbeknownst to me recently got someone to write up the synopsis again, and I’ve just discovered that the BBC have put it into development.

"It’s called Karaoke Wars, and is set in Wales."

He added: "It’s a drama, and if Lily gets bored I might put her in it."

Keith said the showbiz industry was tough for Smile singer Lily.

"She’s completely exhausted. You’ve got to remember that she’s on her own. It’s tough. It’s really hard, that industry," he said.

"People don’t realise how f****** mind-numbing it is. It’s a great thing to do for a bit. If you’re good at it, stay with it. If not, do something else."

In Keith’s latest documentary, he spends a long weekend with a group of American religious extremists, the congregation of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas.

The programme, Keith Allen Will Burn In Hell, is on Channel 4 at 10.30pm tonight.

Lily takes aim at Lindsay - May 29 2007
After a very public spat with Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole, Lily Allen has now turned her attention to Lindsay Lohan.

The Smile singer was apparently kicked off a table at swanky LA club Les Deux last week so that Li-Lo could sit down - and it hasn’t gone down well.

The 22-year-old singer told the world about the incident on her blog, and found time to have a little dig.

"I know she’s a huge star and all, and famous people deserve to sit down especially when they’ve been working so hard, but whatevs," she wrote.

"Lindsay, our thoughts are with you as you go through this difficult time in your life (she got arrested this weekend). In the words of Timbaland and Timberlake, ’What goes around...’"

Mean Girls star Lindsay was arrested after her car hit a kerb in Los Angeles, an incident that her estranged father Michael has described as "a blessing".

Cheryl Tweedy may have had the last word in their recent spat, but it seems that Lily Allen is triumphing in the music stakes.

The London songstress’s album Alright Still is currently outselling Girls Aloud’s Greatest Hits at a rate of eight to one, reports Amazon.co.uk.

The online retailer states that the public feud, reportedly fuelled by Cheryl calling Lily a "chick with a d***", appears to have done neither party any harm - sales of both albums surged on the day the rivalry was thrust into the spotlight.

Lily’s album, however, has seen the greatest benefit from the war of words, with a rise in sales of almost 300 per cent.

"Girls Aloud may have the pop pedigree, but it’s clear where the fans’ loyalties are in this particular spat," said Julian Monaghan, Music Manager at Amazon.co.uk.

Biography

As the daughter of Britpop icon Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, Lily Allen (born May 2 1985) was destined to be famous. Born in Hammersmith, London, she moved around a lot as a child, living in Ireland’s Co Kildare before eventually settling in Islington.

With early dreams of pop stardom Lily was signed to Warner Bros in 2002 thanks, in no small part, to her father. However the partnership was short lived and in 2005 she signed to the lesser known Regal. Despite reported pressure to release pop songs she instead decided to release her tracks for free download on MySpace.com. It was through the website that she found fame, becoming a true internet star before even releasing a single. The buzz created though resulted in a rush release of LDN on limited edition 7" in early 2005.

In 2006 Lily released her debut album Alright, Still to critical and public acclaim, reaching number 2 in the UK charts. She also released Smile, the track which finally launched her in to the public’s conciousness. This was followed by a full re-release of LDN.
