Lily and Lady - sibling rivalry? - Feb 23 2007
It seems the claws are out in the slanging match between Lady Sovereign and Lily Allen - with Lily apparently making a sarcastic offer of sisterhood to the pint-sized rapper.
Lady, 21, had claimed Lily, also 21, has only been able to find success because of her actor dad Keith Allen, The Sun reports.
"I’m not hating on her but someone like Lily Allen, just ’cause her dad’s famous, doesn’t have to work as hard as someone like me," she was quoted as saying.
But the paper reports that Lily has fought back, saying: "In response to Miss Sovereign’s comments, I’ve spoken to my dad and he says he’d be happy to adopt you if you think it will give you a leg up."
It isn’t the first time either of them have had a pop at a fellow artist.
Earlier this week the Daily Mirror reported that both Lady and Lily had criticised Corinne Bailey Rae for being "boring".
Perhaps they have more in common than they think?
ily for 2008 Brits success? - Feb 16 2007
Despite walking away empty-handed, bets are already on for Lily Allen to get a Brit Award in 2008.
The Smile songstress’s odds are 2/1 to be given a gong next year, according to bookies Ladbrokes.
And winners of the best single accolade, Take That, are 10/1 to be crowned best group next time around.
The lads stole the show with their live performance of Patience - and have an army of fans since their comeback.
Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg said: "Despite coming up short this year we think Lily Allen’s in with a shout in 2008.
"Take That will be a force to be reckoned with. The success of Patience proves they’ve still got what it takes. But there’s plenty that can happen in a year."
Lily was nominated for a string of Brit awards, including British female solo artist and British album.
Feisty Lily set to be Brits star - Feb 14 2007
The Brits, the biggest awards ceremony in Britain’s music calendar, take place tonight with Lily Allen expected to be the star of the show.
Lily, 21, unknown to all but her Myspace friends this time last year, is nominated in three categories, including Best British Female.
She is also in the running for British Breakthrough Act and British Album for Alright Still.
The feisty star is up against jazz singer Amy Winehouse and soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae in the British Female category.
The other contenders are Jamelia and the relatively unknown Nerina Pallot.
Corinne is also up for British Breakthrough Act at the awards, to be broadcast live this year.
Amy has a British Album nomination for Back to Black, along with the Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Snow Patrol and Lily.
Best British Male is a five-way race between James Morrison, Jarvis Cocker, Lemar, Paolo Nutini and Thom Yorke.
Jarvis will forever be associated with the Brits after invading the stage in 1996 in protest at a Michael Jackson performance.
Best British Group will go to either the Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Muse, Razorlight or Snow Patrol.
Take That cap their comeback with a British Single nomination for Patience.

With early dreams of pop stardom Lily was signed to Warner Bros in 2002 thanks, in no small part, to her father. However the partnership was short lived and in 2005 she signed to the lesser known Regal. Despite reported pressure to release pop songs she instead decided to release her tracks for free download on MySpace.com. It was through the website that she found fame, becoming a true internet star before even releasing a single. The buzz created though resulted in a rush release of LDN on limited edition 7" in early 2005.
In 2006 Lily released her debut album Alright, Still to critical and public acclaim, reaching number 2 in the UK charts. She also released Smile, the track which finally launched her in to the public’s conciousness. This was followed by a full re-release of LDN.
