The 41-year-old model married Arun, a 42-year-old Indian businessman, in a lavish and traditional Hindu ceremony at a palace-turned-hotel in the western Indian city of Jodhpur on March 9.
"This was a marriage for commercial purposes, but at the cost of religious feelings," said lawyer Hasti Mal Saraswat, on behalf of Vishnu Khandelwal, a local businessman and religious activist, according to The Times of India.
The complaint goes on to say that Liz did not remove her footwear while walking around the sacred fire at the ceremony and wore revealing clothes, the newspaper added.
The couple were first wed in a private civil ceremony in a castle in Gloucestershire before embarking on a string of celebrations in India.
Hindu ceremony and camels for Liz - Mar 11 2007
Dozens of private security guards kept photographers and reporters away from the Indian palace-turned-luxury hotel where actress Elizabeth Hurley and her new husband Arun Nayar got married again in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony.
The couple were first wed last week in a private civil ceremony at Sudeley Castle and have been celebrating their union with a week of lavish parties in Mumbai and in the desert state of Rajasthan.
A Hindu priest, who declined to be named, said: "We would be doing Hindu rituals and they will walk around a holy fire seven times."
Earlier several trucks carrying dozens of horses also entered the Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur.
The wedding is to be followed by a procession of elaborately painted elephants, camels and horses through the grounds of Umaid Bhavan, a massive sandstone domed structure, hotel staff revealed.
The couple and about 250 guests arrived in Jodhpur on Wednesday.
The show must go on for Liz’s wedding - Mar 8 2007
Liz Hurley’s lavish Indian wedding has apparently encountered some teething problems - but it seems the couple are too loved up to care.
Staff at the Umaid Bhawan palace - where Liz and Arun Nayar are due to conclude their wedding marathon - have been working feverishly to finish a cricket pitch that the model ordered for her male guests, according to The Sun.
The last-minute activity comes as a pre-wedding party with 300 guests was nearly cancelled after its beach-side venue was bulldozed in a row over planning.
The couple will have a traditional Hindu ceremony with Liz taking part in a women-only preparation ceremony where her hands will be painted with henna.
Arun will arrive on a white horse and the couple will exchange garlands of flowers and walk around a fire seven times to pronounce their union, The Sun reports.
Their first wedding in Gloucestershire took place at the weekend.
Liz diet is ancient history - Mar 7 2007
Many a blushing bride diets frantically to look her best on the big day and it seems that Liz Hurley is no exception.
The model-turned-swimwear designer - who’s known for her stringent eating habits - shaped up for her big day by employing a last minute ’cave man’ diet according to Grazia magazine.
Apparently Liz shed the final 5lbs in order to fit perfectly into her dress by eating only one meal a day.
"Elizabeth was being incredibly sensible in the last few months," a close friend told the magazine.
"But in the last few weeks she started to worry about a few extra pounds that wouldn’t shift, particularly around her tummy. After just three days of the caveman diet her stomach was totally flat.
"She has several pairs of jeans in her wardrobe that she no longer wears.

At 21, Hurley got her first film role in the 1987 film Aria after having attended the London Studio Centre on scholarship. Hurley’s role in the film Remando al Viento that same year could be considered a crucial one, as it also starred her future boyfriend Hugh Grant.
However, despite acting and modelling jobs it was a certain safety pinned Versace frock that made Liz on of Britain’s most famous faces. She wore what would soon simply be called ’that dress’ to the premiere of Hugh’s breakthrough film Four Weddings and a Funeral. More attention followed when Estee Lauder signed Hurley to be the face of their cosmetics.
Although together for several years, even sticking together through the embarrassing Divine Brown incident, Hugh and Liz split in 2001 although they remain friends to this day. Liz had a brief fling with billionaire Steve Bing, during which she became pregnant with her son Damien. A very public battle occured during her pregnancy with Bing claiming that the child was not his. Liz found vindication when the child was born - not only was he the spit of Bing but a dna test proved without doubt what we could all see.
Liz is now engaged to Indian businessman Arun Nayer and their impending nuptuals have been the source of much speculation with several dates touted and even Hugh Grant has been suggested as Arun’s best man.
Meanwhile Liz’s career has taken a forward leap. Her acting credentials may be lousy (Bedazzled anyone?) and her stint as presenter of Project Catwalk might have been panned but the very British beauty has found her niche. Elizabeth Hurley Beach, her own range of beachwear has been flying off the shelves in the UK and US while her Estee Lauder job goes from strength to strength.
Liz splits her time between Ampney Crucis in the Cotswolds and California.
