The couple have enjoyed a number of candle-lit dinners over the past weeks after they met through a mutual friend at a party. The 24-year-old footballer called his new pal the very next day and invited her for a romantic meal at Japanese restaurant Nobu.

Meg Mathews is fuming, which would explain why she is refusing to allow Noel Gallagher access to their daughter Anais.

It seems that she can not get to grips with the fact that Noel’s relationship with new squeeze PR girl Sara Macdonald is moving up a gear, the pair now live together and if rumours are to believed he wants his divorce with Meg to be finalised so that he can marry Sara by late summer.

Obviously by law she can’t stop Noel from seeing his daughter but she is making it as difficult as she can.

Meg Mathews is receiving £25.000 maintenance a month from her ex-husband Oasis star Noel Gallagher, but there’s no pleasing some people and she wants more. The sum could now soar to £40.000 per month.

Rocker Noel is worth £25million and has called a truce with 34-year-old Meg while their lawyers work out a full divorce settlement. In January, the couple’s 3?-year marriage ended in a decree nisi after Noel, 33, admitted adultery with PR girl Sara MacDonald.

But the decree absolute won’t go through until the cash deal is settled. In the meantime, Noel has agreed to pay the monthly sum for Meg and their year-old daughter Anais.

A friend said: "Noel can afford to pay it and is happy to do so. His main concern is about Anais. Now interim maintenance has been agreed, Noel and Meg are on much better terms. It means she can live in the manner to which she has become accustomed."

Meg - is expected to get a lump sum of up to £3million in the divorce deal.

Meg vows to ’clean up her act’ Meg Mathews has promised to cast aside her wild rock’n’roll lifestyle in what is thought to be the start of a battle to secure sole custody of her daughter Anais.

Following reports that her former husband, the Oasis lout Noel Gallagher, intended going for joint custody of the child following reports of her excessive behaviour, she has been advised by friends to ’clean up her act’.

In January she missed her daughter’s first birthday party because she was on holiday in Thailand. Gallagher was furious; more so when he learned that Meg became very intimate with an Australian she picked up on a beach.

A friend of Meg’s says: ’It was the sex on the beach that did it. Meg’s now decided it’s time to grow up.

Noel has never wanted to take Anais away from her mum but he would if he thought Meg was spinning out of control.’

Meg Mathews was apparently 60 minutes from death after collapsing with appendicitis on a holiday isle, it was revealed last night. The former wife of Oasis star Noel Gallagher endured an agonising 15-mile dash to the nearest hospital, and within a quarter of an hour was in surgery having her appendix removed before it burst and caused potentially fatal peritonitis.

"She was told by the doctor that if they hadn’t operated she would have been dead within the hour. Meg is feeling much better know but she realises that she has had a very lucky escape."
