Paris Hilton
- Profession: Hotel heiress
- Place/Date of Birth: New York City, 17 February 2021
Singer Pink’s husband, motocross rider Carey Hart says Paris is getting exactly what she deserves. "I’m glad that someone is making an example of her, and I’m not coming down on her, but laws are laws, everyone’s got to abide by them, just because you have certain celebrity status, or certain financial stability you shouldn’t be allowed to get away with murder."
The hotel heiress was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation by driving with a suspended licence. An appeal has been filed.
Police see me as target - Paris - May 8 2007
Paris Hilton, who has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation terms in an alcohol-related reckless driving case, believes police single her out because of who she is.
"I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted and I don’t deserve this," Paris told photographers assembled outside her home at the weekend.
She recently told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: "I get in more trouble just because of who I am."
"The cops do it all the time," she said. "They’ll just pull me over to hit on me. It’s really annoying. They’re like, ’What’s your phone number? Want to go to dinner?’
"They won’t even give me a ticket. They just pull me over, and the paparazzi, of course, take a picture. All the time. I have so many cops’ business cards."
Paris has rehired the publicist she dropped over the weekend after being sentenced to 45 days in jail. Elliot Mintz confirmed that he is again representing the 26-year-old, who was ordered to report to jail by June 5.
The hotel heiress, who parlayed her party lifestyle into worldwide fame, has called the sentence unfair, and her fans have posted a petition on the internet urging Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon her.
A Schwarzenegger spokesman told The Associated Press it was "premature" for the governor to get involved.
Paris to appeal against jail term - May 8 2007
Paris Hilton is to appeal against her 45-day jail sentence imposed for a probation violation.
The 26-year-old heiress has been ordered by a Los Angeles judge to report to a county jail by June 5 for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
The US socialite’s lawyers filed a notice with the court indicating their intent to appeal. The document is required before a formal appeal can be lodged.
Paris said she believed the sentence was unfair. "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted and I don’t deserve this," she told photographers assembled outside her home.
On Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer ordered that the party girl must report to a women’s jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars. She will not be allowed any work release, leave of absences, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in place of jail
Paris was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her driving licence was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes.

She might be set to inherit an estimated $20m but that hasn’t stopped Paris turning her hand to a variety of ’jobs’ including TV star ? on The Simple Life, in which ex friend Nicole also starred ? movie star (with cameo appearances in Zoolander and The Cat in The Hat followed by a starring role in House of Wax), writer, albeit of her own autobiography, and model. These extra jobs are thought to have netted her around an extra $6m, a tidy sum which no doubt more than makes up for the ridicule Paris faces daily.
More recently Paris has get in on the music industry, founding Heiress Records on which she will produce her own debut record ? first single ’Screwed’ has already been leaked and, naturally, slated. She has also hit the headlines for becoming engaged to fellow heir Paris Latsis with whom she is regularly seen on the LA and New York party scene.
