Paris Hilton’s court date postponed - Sept 27, 2020
Paris Hilton’s first court appearance on drink-driving charges has been postponed to December at the request of her lawyer, a spokesman for Los Angeles prosecutors said.
Hilton was originally scheduled to appear in court on Thursday on charges that she was driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of at least 0.08%, said city attorney’s spokesman Nick Velasquez.
It is not unusual for a first court date to be postponed, he said.
The Superior Court date (arraignment) is now scheduled for December 5, but Hilton is not required to appear.
The 25-year-old Hilton was arrested on September 7 after being stopped in her Mercedes-Benz SLR while, she said, on a late-night hamburger run.
Hilton has no prior driving under the influence (DUI) arrests.
Paris on drink-driving charge in US - Sept 26, 2020
Paris Hilton has been charged with drink-driving.
Hilton was scheduled to be arraigned on September 28 in Superior Court on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08%, said Nick Velasquez, a spokesman for Los Angeles city prosecutors.
The 25-year-old Hilton was arrested on September 7 after being stopped in her Mercedes-Benz SLR. Police said her blood-alcohol level was 0.08%, the minimum to warrant an arrest.
"The charges are consistent with California law and the circumstances of this case," Velasquez said.
Paparazzi swarmed the Hollywood police station after Hilton’s arrest.
Hilton told KIIS-FM’s morning radio host Ryan Seacrest that she was on an early morning hamburger run when she was stopped.
The singer, actress, handbag designer and heiress to the Hilton hotel fortune denied driving recklessly but conceded "maybe I was speeding a little bit."
Hilton, who once told the Los Angeles Times that the taste of booze "grosses me out," claimed she had a single margarita at a charity event the evening before her arrest.
If convicted, Hilton could be sentenced to six months in jail and fined 1,000 US Dollars (£560). The minimum penalty for a first-time offender is a fine, probation and alcohol-rehabilitation program.
Paris says she isn’t smart - Sept 21, 2020
In the least shocking celebrity statement of maybe the decade, Paris Hilton has admitted that she’s "not like that smart".
The blonde socialite was talking to police about a break-in at the house of her friend - Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis - when she made the odd comment.
The Simple Life beauty also mentions private tapes that were stolen from her house and then used to try and blackmail her.
When investigating cops asked her what she knew, the pretty heiress said: "Like I really... I don’t remember... I like forget stuff all the time."
While she was unable to help in Francis’ enquiries, Paris did tell cops the fact that anonymous sorts had called her to try and extort money for the return of her own stolen property.

She might be set to inherit an estimated $20m but that hasn’t stopped Paris turning her hand to a variety of ’jobs’ including TV star ? on The Simple Life, in which ex friend Nicole also starred ? movie star (with cameo appearances in Zoolander and The Cat in The Hat followed by a starring role in House of Wax), writer, albeit of her own autobiography, and model. These extra jobs are thought to have netted her around an extra $6m, a tidy sum which no doubt more than makes up for the ridicule Paris faces daily.
More recently Paris has get in on the music industry, founding Heiress Records on which she will produce her own debut record ? first single ’Screwed’ has already been leaked and, naturally, slated. She has also hit the headlines for becoming engaged to fellow heir Paris Latsis with whom she is regularly seen on the LA and New York party scene.
