Rod Stewart gave Paris Hilton his blessing to cover his classic hit ’Do Ya Think I’m Sexy’ for her debut album. The hotel heiress - whose self-titled record is to be released in August - has revealed the veteran rocker gave her his permission to record a version of his 1978 hit while they were partying together.

She told Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper: "My producer and I were hanging out with Rod one night and it came on and we all thought it would be the perfect song for me to do." Paris also revealed she originally planned to record a rock album, but changed her mind mid-way because she is not a fan of the genre. She said: "We were recording a rock album and I wasn’t really feeling it. "I liked it, it was really good for rock music, but I don’t listen to rock much. I love hip-hop and pop."

Paris Hilton has been denied a discount at her own chain of hotels. During a live interview on a Scottish radio station, the heiress tried to reserve a room in her own name at the Glasgow Hilton but the booking clerk refused to give her the corporate rate. He told the ’House of Wax’ star: "There is no discount I can initiate, I’m afraid". Instead, he offered the hotel heiress a standard queen-sized room the full rate of $310 per night.

Meanwhile, Paris recently ordered her helicopter pilot to make an emergency landing on a German farm - so she could use the toilet. The actress-turned-singer was touring the European country, before the start of the football World Cup, when she reportedly made the surprise request. Paris even got her security to stop the family from entering their own bathroom so she could relieve herself in peace. A source said: "She gave the farmer a bit of a shock. Her bouncers even blocked the farm door so the family couldn’t go inside their own house while she was using the loo."

Paris Hilton has had a secret dinner date with British singer, James Blunt. The pair got together in London on Friday night (23.06.06) after becoming friends at the Brit Awards in February.

Paris - who was in town for the O2 Wireless Festival in the city’s Hyde Park where Blunt was headlining - told Channel 4: "He is so hot! I love James. "We went out for dinner on Friday night and had a blast. I love London and getting to hang out with James here is awesome. He’s a great guy."

However, the ’You’re Beautiful’ singer’s girlfriend, Petra Nemcova, might not be too pleased about the hook up. The model was first linked to Blunt after they were spotted leaving a New York venue hand-in-hand earlier this year (06).

Meanwhile, Hilton - who is reportedly dating Arizona Cardinals player, Matt Leinart - is trying to launch her own singing career despite being desperately shy. She told Japan’s Prestige magazine: "I have always had a voice and always known I could sing, but I was too shy to let it come out. I think that is the hardest thing you can do, to sing in front of people. "When I finally let go and did it, I realized it is what I am most talented at and what I love to do the most."
