Eyewitness Mike Kelly: "I saw a large, blue Jaguar being chased at speed up a one-way street the wrong way. "He was being followed by a police Volvo and was headed off by a grey, unmarked vehicle with its lights flashing. He added: "I could see that it was Pete Doherty that had been driving. I recognised him straight away from the pictures that I had seen of him. He had two passengers, one in the front seat and one in the back, who both looked a fair bit younger." In a statement, West Midlands police confirmed a 26-year-old man from London and two others aged 18 and 19 from Dundee were arrested.
In January (06), Doherty was given a 12 month community service order after admitting seven charges of possessing drugs, including crack cocaine. As a result, the rocker promised to "start a drug-free life".

Pete Doherty has appeared in court this afternoon (20/1/06) charged with four counts of possession. Guilty - Jan 11, 2021
Pete Doherty pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs. He appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court to face charges of possessing herion and cocaine.
He was arrested by police after being spotted driving a speeding car in west London on 30th November.
Doherty’s solicitor, Eamonn Sherry, was forced to apologise to the magistrates’ bench after the singer arrived at the hearing more than an hour late.
"Mr Doherty travelled in a car and he had traffic difficulties and I am told was being followed by a number of other individuals," said Mr Sherry.
"Given the press activity that there is in relation to this gentleman that is the reason." He is due to reappear at Ealing Magistrates Court on 8 February.
Pete begged his fans to show up at his upcoming court appearance - Jan 11, 2021
Kate Moss’ ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty has reportedly begged his fans to show up at his upcoming court appearance. The Babyshambles rocker - who was dumped by the supermodel after quitting rehab at the end of last year - is due in court on drugs charges today (11.01.06) and wants to take hundreds of fans for support.
The troubled star - who is accused of possession of cocaine and heroin - is said to have urged the 1,500 fans at a recent concert at London’s Koko club to turn up to back him when he attends his court hearing. The 26-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A narcotics last November, reportedly told admirers: "You should all come down. It would be good to have some support."
Insiders claim the singer’s plea to his supporters was "deadly serious". A spokesman for Scotland Yard has refused to comment on Doherty’s actions. She is quoted in the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "If there is an incident then we will deal with it accordingly."
Pete...arrested...yawn - Dec 19, 2020

A long and drawn out battle with drugs, an especially fiery relationship with Croydon’s favourite daughter and any number of bust ups and arrests has made the singer/songwriter one of Britain’s most recognisable faces (all be it a screwed up, sweaty zombie face).
Born on March 12 1979 in Hexham, Northumberland and living at various times in Liverpool, Shepherd’s Bush, Coventry, Dorset, Cyprus and Russia, Pete Doherty first came to the public’s attention as one half of the singing songwriting duo who fronted Britain’s must see band, The Libertines, who kick started the country’s new garage rock scene in 2002/03.
Debauched backstage shenanigans and frantic but brilliant shows saw The Libertines hit the headlines time and time again and their debut album, Up The Bracket, shot up the charts. However, the band’s success was to be short lived and numerous problems, between Pete and the rest of the band (specifically with best friend Carl Barat - the pair met when they became flatmates in Stoke Newington) saw them part ways but not before Pete hit the headlines for drink and drug problems which caused him to steal from his bandmates to feed his habit.
It was around this time that Lisa Moorish gave birth to Doherty’s child, Astile but, rather than settling down Pete carried on taking heroin, selling his ’My Drug Hell’ stories to any and every tabloid to pay for his out of control habit before being put in to several rehab clinics (including a Thai monastery), none of which have changed his ways.
Nonetheless he has managed to forge a career on his own, first working with Wolfman on For Lovers then forming Babyshambles, initially as a way to make money for.you guessed it! Now trying to get clean with the aid of Naltroxene after an arrest for assault, which resulted in some jail time as well as a curfew and constant supervision Pete is reportedly set to marry supermodel Kate Moss.
