The fiery judge confessed she was fed up of coming behind music mogul Simon Cowell and will throw in the towel in after series four, if she doesn’t land a top act, reports the Daily Star.
The 54-year-old said: "If I don’t win I will fire myself before someone else does."
The barbed comment comes after Louis Walsh’s sacking and subsequent rehiring after the last series.
A source added: "Sharon may have been joking but she may have been deadly serious. No-one would be surprised if she decided to call it a day at the end of the series."
The biggest competition in the show now will be a new 14 to 16-year-old category.
Simon said: "People worried that we’d lowered the age qualification too far but that isn’t the case.
"The 14-year-olds are really more like 18-year-olds. They are cocky and confident - it’s the 50-year-olds who are really nervous."
Osbournes sell pad to Christina? - June 21 2007
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have reportedly sold their infamous Beverly Hills pad to Christina Aguilera.
The duo said the attention had become unbearable after their fly-on-the-wall documentary with fans hanging outside - so they decided to sell up.
Ozzy told The Sun: "I don’t want to stay in that house any more. People turn up day and night and a tour bus stops outside every day - it drives me mad.
"The house holds bad memories for me and reminds me of the terrible time Sharon got cancer and of times when me and the kids were doped out of our minds.
"So we’ve sold it to Christina and we’re moving to a new place in a gated community."
Sharon added that the Black Sabbath singer once opened to door to people who she thought were friends of her kids - and found 20 Japanese tourists snooping around instead.
"Ozzy let them in - he thought they were pals of Jack or Kelly," she grinned.
Sharon storms off set - June 13 2007
Sharon Osbourne reportedly walked off set in her first week on America’s Got Talent because of the "appalling behaviour" of fellow judge Piers Morgan.
She told TV Guide: "It was a day where there was one young contestant after another. Piers has a definite dislike for children or younger artists.
"It was appalling behaviour. I just couldn’t take the way he was talking to them.
She added: "And it was not just the children -- he was being particularly appalling to everybody that day. I just had it. I was ready to scream."
After storming off, she apparently spoke on the phone to Simon Cowell, executive producer of the show.
She said Simon told her: "You have worked with worse people in your life. You can handle this."
Sharon replaced singer Brandy as a judge for the second series of the show, alongside ex-newspaper editor Piers and former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff.
But it seems the two British judges are far from chummy.
"I never sat down with Piers, just the two of us. Nor would I," said Sharon.
"I talk to him about what we are doing, but in between contestants there is no communication.
She went on: "It is not that we don’t get along, it’s that we just don’t have any sort of relationship. I wouldn’t hang out with him or go have a cup of tea.".

Sharon also worked her magic on acts such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Coal Chamber and Motorhead, there are also rumours that she briefly worked with Queen but was sacked by Freddie Mercury.
During their long hours together Sharon and Ozzy fell in love and, in 1982, they were married in Hawaii. However, it hasn’t all been romance for Sharon, she has stuck by her husband through his drink and drugs problems, which came to a head when her husband tried to strangle her. Despite everything Sharon has stood by her man and turned her family into a hugely successful media product.
In 2002 The Osbournes aired on MTV. The show followed the lives of Sharon, Ozzy, son Jack and daughter Kelly as well as their legion of pets as they went through day to day life in California. An immediate hit The Osbournes immediately launched the family in to the limelight like never before and when Sharon was diagnosed with cancer during the making of the series she insisted filming continue.
Despite the bad luck that came with the series - both Jack and Kelly developed problems with drink and drugs during that time - there has been a silver lining for Sharon. Ok, so her self titled talk show wasn’t the hugest success in the US but her role as judge on The X Factor has launched Sharon to a whole new audience while the UK version of her talk show garnered a respectable amount of viewers.
Elsewhere Sharon has set up top rock festival Ozzfest and published her autobiography, Extreme, which sensationally revealed the levels of plastic surgery she has undergone, including lap-band surgery (which reduces the size of the stomach) and detailed her ongoing battle with bulimia. However, it is her outspoken ways which have seen Sharon hit the headlines time and time again, from hitting out at Chris Tarrant to a fued with Iron Maiden, via bitchy comments to Rebecca Loos and a neverending argument with fellow X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
