Viewers desert Sharon - Sept 5, 2020
Sharon Osbourne’s new teatime show dropped more viewers yesterday - putting it at an all-time low. The Sharon Osbourne Show attracted 1.2 million viewers, compared to 2.9 million for Noel Edmonds’ Deal Or No Deal on Channel 4. Sharon’s hour-long ITV1 show was launched last Tuesday with 1.9 million viewers.
But the X Factor judge’s audience dipped to 1.4 million on Friday, and 1.2 million yesterday. Deal Or No Deal, which won the award for Best Daytime Show at the TV Choice and TV Quick Awards last night, was given a new slot to go head-to-head with the flame-haired presenter’s chatshow.
Sharon v Richard And Judy - Aug 31, 2020
Sharon Osbourne beat tea-time rivals Richard And Judy with the launch of her new ITV1 chat show yesterday. The hour-long Sharon Osbourne Show attracted a peak of 2.1 million viewers and an average of 1.9 million between 5pm and 6pm.
Channel 4’s presenting duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan were watched by a peak of 1.65 million viewers and seen by a 14% share of the audience compared with 17% for ITV1. X Factor judge Osbourne, 53, fills the gap left on ITV1 by Paul O’Grady, 51, following his shock defection to Channel 4.
Last night, Rod Stewart’s fiancee, Penny Lancaster, and Coronation Street star Debra Stephenson both featured on her show. An ITV spokesman said of the figures: "We’re pleased and it’s a promising start."
Richard And Judy, which has attracted around 1.6 million viewers throughout this series, shares the Channel 4 slot with O’Grady. The Lily Savage star has postponed his TV return while he recovers from his second heart attack in four years.
Fire at the Buckinghamshire home - July 7, 2020
Fire-fighters bravely battled a fierce early morning blaze at Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s £5 million mansion yesterday (06.07.06). The couple’s 21-year-old daughter Kelly was reportedly the only member of the family at home when the fire - thought to be started by a faulty lamp - ripped through the family’s Buckinghamshire home.
Luckily, Ozzy had recently fitted the house with a state-of-the-art £2,000 fire alarm, which automatically alerted the emergency services. A Buckinghamshire Fire Service spokesman said: "The blaze was caught in the nick of time. "If we hadn’t been alerted so quickly it could have been a lot worse." Kelly was woken by firemen and escaped unhurt, however, a female employee was treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire follows a series of unlucky incidents at the property. In 2003, Ozzy spent eight days in a coma after a near-fatal quad biking accident in the grounds of the mansion, while the following year the rocker tackled a cat burglar, before the thief escaped with close to ?2 million of jewellery. In March 2005, a fire broke out in the living room of the manor as the family slept. A friend of Ozzy’s said: "He thinks the place is bloody cursed. He is wondering if a plague of locusts will be next."

Sharon also worked her magic on acts such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Coal Chamber and Motorhead, there are also rumours that she briefly worked with Queen but was sacked by Freddie Mercury.
During their long hours together Sharon and Ozzy fell in love and, in 1982, they were married in Hawaii. However, it hasn’t all been romance for Sharon, she has stuck by her husband through his drink and drugs problems, which came to a head when her husband tried to strangle her. Despite everything Sharon has stood by her man and turned her family into a hugely successful media product.
In 2002 The Osbournes aired on MTV. The show followed the lives of Sharon, Ozzy, son Jack and daughter Kelly as well as their legion of pets as they went through day to day life in California. An immediate hit The Osbournes immediately launched the family in to the limelight like never before and when Sharon was diagnosed with cancer during the making of the series she insisted filming continue.
Despite the bad luck that came with the series - both Jack and Kelly developed problems with drink and drugs during that time - there has been a silver lining for Sharon. Ok, so her self titled talk show wasn’t the hugest success in the US but her role as judge on The X Factor has launched Sharon to a whole new audience while the UK version of her talk show garnered a respectable amount of viewers.
Elsewhere Sharon has set up top rock festival Ozzfest and published her autobiography, Extreme, which sensationally revealed the levels of plastic surgery she has undergone, including lap-band surgery (which reduces the size of the stomach) and detailed her ongoing battle with bulimia. However, it is her outspoken ways which have seen Sharon hit the headlines time and time again, from hitting out at Chris Tarrant to a fued with Iron Maiden, via bitchy comments to Rebecca Loos and a neverending argument with fellow X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
