An insider told the mag: "Victoria is adamant she won’t do it. When she signed up, one major stipulation was that she will not sing solo."

The other issue, it seems, is what the girls are going to be wearing.

They continued: "Victoria and Geri have come a long way since they were last in the Spice Girls, and they have completely different ideas of what will work on the road.

"With her fashion background, Victoria considers herself to be a key player in deciding the outfits and overall look of the band, but Geri is adamant that she has her say too."

Spice Girls ’revisiting’ old friendship - Oct 7 2007

Geri Halliwell has compared the Spice Girls’ reunion to friends who are now a little older and wiser getting back together and realising school was better than they remembered.

As she let slip the group’s comeback single will be a ballad called Headlines, she told GMTV that the band reforming was like being given a second chance.

The original Ginger Spice, 35, only hinted at past rifts between the five members of the group when she conceded it was difficult to balance work with friendship.

She said: "It is different. The only way I can describe it is like when you look back on your school days. When you are at school, sometimes you think ’oh God’ but you look back and think actually, that was so much fun, it was a laugh with your schoolmates.

"It’s getting to revisit something, a little bit older, a little bit wiser."

She added: "It’s so amazing. It is like waking up and you get a second chance to be something that is so enjoyable."

She said it was hard to "juggle that balance" between work and friendship, saying: "It’s fantastic hanging with girls you really like but there are pressures of work to go with it so it’s about finding that balance. It’s like planning a wedding..."

Spice Girls change release date? - Oct 5 2007

The Spice Girls have apparently delayed the release of their greatest hits album - after learning that Westlife were due to put their album out on the same day.

The comeback group - Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell - had originally planned for their record to hit the shelves on November 5.

But after hearing the Irish boyband has also chosen that date, they decided to opt for November 12 instead, reports The Sun.

Last time the girls went head-to-head with Westlife, the boys sold 234,000 copies of their album Coast To Coast in contrast to 71,000 copies of the Spice Girls’ Forever album.

Two new UK dates have been added on to the Spice Girls’ eagerly-anticipated forthcoming tour due to "phenomenal public demand".

The new dates, on January 15 and 16, are at the 02 Arena in London.

Spice Girls add two extra shows - Oct 4 2007
Two new UK dates have been added to the Spice Girls’ tour because of "phenomenal public demand".

The new dates, on January 15 and 16, are at the 02 Arena in London.

Tickets will go on sale from 10am on Saturday from the 02 Arena on a "first come, first served" basis.

Organisers said 12 UK shows have already been sold out through the website www.thespicegirls.com - which means "over 140,000 frenzied fans desperate to see the Girls".

Tickets for their December 15 show sold out in just 38 seconds and were appearing on eBay, asking fans for as much as £750.

Tickets for the US leg of the tour also go on sale on Saturday and are expected to sell out immediately, organisers said.

Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Posh and Baby Spice launch their world tour in Vancouver, Canada, on December 2.
