Stella launches new Adidas collection - Sept 22 2007
Stella McCartney was surrounded by friends and family as she launched her new spring/summer 2008 collection for Adidas.
Sir Paul, James and Mary McCartney attended the event at a West London sports centre, alongside a star-studded guest list which included Kate Moss, Courtney Love, Debbie Harry, Twiggy, Lily Cole, Mario Testino, Jackson Scott, Nathalie Press and Sam Taylor-Wood.
The party was based on crazy golf, and the hall was decked out with a putting green, park benches, a burger van and a hotdog stand.
Rather than strutting a catwalk, models in the collection made themselves at home in the installation - stretching, jogging and practising their swings.
Guests also got a chance to putt a few balls whilst drinking Snow Leopard Bagheera and vodka cocktails.
And keeping it in the family, guests ate food which was supplied by the company of Stella’s late mother, Linda.
Stella’s new range is pants - July 30 2007
Stella McCartney is set to build on her fashion empire by designing her own range of lingerie with manufacturer Bendon.
The 35-year-old already has her own fashion brand but has announced that her next move is into undies.
She said: "This is a natural progression for me. Lingerie is an obsession of mine, I have been inspired by it for many, many years and ever since my degree collection at St Martins, I have always used it in my work."
The lingerie collection will focus on "naturally sexy, confident and modern designs" and will be constructed from silks, organic cottons and georgette chiffons on soft shades of vintage pink, cream, blue and pearl grey.
Marco Bizzarri, CEO of Stella McCartney added: "This is a real partnership with Bendon and a unique opportunity for Stella McCartney to address her sensibility for lingerie."
The Stella McCartney lingerie collection will be available for market in August and will launch in high end department stores, speciality stores and Stella McCartney stores worldwide in January 2008.
Stella’s Second Life protest - 12 July 2020
Stella McCartney and Peta are co-hosting the first worldwide virtual anti-fur protest in Second Life.
The designer has teamed up with the animal rights organisation to bring awareness to the cause in a peaceful way.
At 7pm, there will be an outdoor celebration on a dedicated island - The Stella McCartney-Peta Island - where the protest will take on its own life.
The island will feature a lake, picnic tables and Linda McCartney mini veggie burger stalls, a "live" DJ booth and information tree-houses. It will be open until July 29.
Visitors attracted to the event will be able to donate money to the cause from inside the 3-D world. They will also be invited to come up with the best anti-fur slogan and will go away with a goodie-bag full of anti-fur accessories.
Stella says: "Sometimes it’s nice to have a bit of humour on serious subjects."
Peta President Ingrid E Newkirk added: "We are always looking for new ways to raise awareness about the extreme suffering that animals endure on fur farms and in cruel steel-jaw traps in the wild, so when Stella came up with this idea we were on board from the beginning."
Stella’s vests set to rock festival - June 16 2007
Stella McCartney has designed a limited edition vest for this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
She has teamed up with Oxfam and all money raised from sales will go to the charity.
The fashion designer took the 70s outfits worn by her former Beatle father and late mother Linda as inspiration.

Unsurprisingly, the student show became front page news around the world and the entire collection was snapped up by London boutique Tokio. She launched her eponymous label the same year. Despite her new-found celebrity, McCartney had already served a long apprenticeship in fashion. At 15, she worked with Christian Lacroix on his first couture collection and later spent several years learning her craft on Savile Row. McCartney was appointed chief designer at the French couture house Chloë in March 1997. Succeeding Karl Lagerfeld in one of the most high profile posts in the industry, McCartney’s appointment was viewed by many as simply an astute publicity stunt on the part of Chloë’s owners, the Vendome group. However, her first collection for the house, shown in Paris in October 1997, quickly dispelled any doubts about her talent. Sensual and romantic, the collection teamed lacy petticoat skirts with fine tailoring and was hailed a triumph. Her delicate camisoles and Nineties updates of the Seventies trousersuit fast became the talk of the catwalk circuit.
The following season, Chloë execs proved that her efforts had not only raised the house’s profile, but had lifted its profits too. Following her mother’s death in April 1998, Stella took up her fight against the maltreatment of animals. A month later, during Fur Fashion Week, she teamed up with PeTA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - to release a video championing animal rights. In April 2000, she renewed her contract with Chloë, amid reports that she had turned down the offer of a position at rival house Gucci, because Gucci would have required her to work with leather. She may have torn up the grey carpets of her new office in Paris to make it of a parquet-floored home away from home; but, to Stella McCartney, there really is no place like it.
In fact, rather than move entirely from her beloved studio-flat in London’s W11, the Chloë designer has merely upgraded to a £695,000 white stucco, four-floor family house with a miniature roof terrace down the road. Her vibe is undeniably west London. Written in 2000
