Cat’s flirty with George - Nov 6 2006
It seems Brummie blonde Cat Deeley isn’t just wowing TV audiences in the US.
The glamorous presenter has apparently also attracted the attention of silver-haired heartthrob George Clooney.
The two met when Cat interviewed George for The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, on which she is a showbiz reporter.
"He flirted outrageously with her and she flirted back," an insider told the Daily Express.
"Afterwards, he asked for her number, saying he’d like to take her out to dinner."
Cat, 30, has been single since splitting with her PR executive boyfriend Mark Whelan after she moved to LA earlier this year.
And 45-year-old George should have no problems with dating a British woman.
He has romanced a string of beauties from Blighty in the past, including model Lisa Snowdon and TV host Mariella Frostrup.
But the source told the paper George will have to put in some effort to win over the lovely Cat.
"She’s not the kind of girl to be doe-eyed just because he’s the A of the A-list," he said.
Cat hasn’t moved to LA for good - Aug 30, 2020
Blonde stunner Cat Deeley has insisted she hasn’t moved to LA for good. The presenter, who is currently hosting popular US show So You Think You Can Dance, said she misses her home comforts too much to leave Britain. "I still need my marmite and my proper cups of tea and baked beans on toast," she said at the Emmy nominees’ tea party on Saturday.
And although Cat’s clearly enjoying her new Hollywood lifestyle, she added: "If I can come backwards and forwards then that’s ideal." The Brummie beauty made her name on Saturday morning kids’ show SM:TV alongside Geordie duo Ant and Dec.
But she looked a long way from home when she arrived at the Emmy awards ceremony on Sunday - in a beautiful red dress and sparkling diamonds. Her date for the evening was music mogul Nigel Lythgoe, who produces and judges her hit dance talent show.
Cat 4 Leo? - Aug 06
Cat Deeley has never had a shortage of British men falling at her feet but if rumours are to be believed she’s been searching stateside for love. The presenter has reportedly been dating Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio who, friends say, was attracted to our Cat thanks to her fresh British charm. According to reports the unlikely couple met when Leo overheard Cat talking about posng nude for a magazine and advised her against the move. Critics reckon Cat could be angling for a Catherine Zeta Jones style LA makeover but somehow we can’t see her sporting a CZJ bouffant and sashaying down the red carpet.

Cat Deeley first stepped into the limelight at the tender age of 14, when she entered a regional BBC Clothes Show competition. Despite her limited modelling experience she made it through to the final round and was instantly snapped up by Storm modelling agency. After successfully sitting both her GCSE’s and A Levels she became a full time model.
Cat first appeared on MTV after sending a video application of herself performing as a VJ; she was invited to interviews and auditions before finally bagging a job.
Her progression onto terrestrial television saw her present the popular CD:UK. But it was her stint co-hosting SMTV Live with Ant and Dec that really secured her position on the small screen. In 2001 she was awarded a Children’s BAFTA for Best Presenter.
Since then she has gone on to host The Record of the Year, Fame Academy, The Brit Awards 2004 and Stars in Their Eyes. Cat has also branched out into to radio with a weekly slot on London’s Capital FM.
Having firmly set her sights on Hollywood, in 2006 Cat hosted the American reality show So You Think You Can Dance and is due to return for the third season which will be aired in 2007.
Cat is reported to have purchased the former Brentwood, LA residence of Marilyn Monroe, where the actress was found dead in 1962.
