The Crown Prosecution Service decided that he was no longer fit to stand trial. Italian Agostino Pomata, who was accused of harassing the 32-year-old German supermodel at the Suffolk home that she shares with her husband Matthew Vaughn and son Caspar, has been sent to hospital for psychiatric treatment.

"We decided to discontinue the case," a CPS spokeswoman told Reuters.

"It was on the grounds that he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act, but the trial can be restarted if his condition changes."

Congratulations to Claudia Schiffer and Matthew Vaughn on the birth of their first child - a 7lb boy named Casper Matthew De Vere Drummond.

The baby was born by Caesarean section a Portland hospital, her husband film producer Matthew Vaughn was at the hospital as she underwent the procedure.

He said he hopes his first child will inherit his mother’s good looks and his business mind.

A spokeswoman said: "Both parents are utterly thrilled at the birth of their first child and both mother and baby are doing very well."


Claudia’s psycho hospitalised - 09/01/03
Claudia Schiffer really is a stalker magnet, this time a man, known only as Julio S has been sent to a psychiatric clinic after stealing 124 wedding rings to give to Claudia.

The man used a toy gun and wore a Halloween mask to steal the rings and a watch worth ?35,000. He told the court he actually wanted to steal three or four wedding dresses for Schiffer to chose from, but the bridal shop was too full, so he decided to go to the nearby jewellers.

’I was thinking about Claudia Schiffer’ said Julio. ’I needed so many rings so that she could pick one out. Besides, I wasn’t sure about her ring size.’


A Berlin court said the 32-year-old was a danger to society and ordered him sent to a clinic for treatment, Claudia in the meantime is waiting for her new baby which is due any day now.


Claudia stalker - 11/12/02
It’s been one hell of a pregnancy for Claudia Schiffer. First she breaks her foot whilst in her 7th month and then now it’s emerged that an Italian chef is due in court later this week accused of harassing her.

Agostino Pomata is charged with attempting to speak to or see Schiffer at her ?5m home in Coldham Hall, Stanningfield, Suffolk, the model who also has a home in Notting Hill has made no comment.

Pomata, 33 was arrested yesterday after he failed to appear before magistrates in Bury St Edmunds. He has been remanded on bail.


Pregnant supermodel breaks her foot -22/11/02
Supermodel Claudia Schiffer has broken her foot. The German model who is due to give birth to her first child in January, was at a party last weekend when part of a fireplace collapsed on her.

Claudia was rushed to hospital by concerned hubby Matthew Vaughn and was operated on earlier this week were it’s believed she broke her foot in three different places.

Now recovering at home, Claudia is set for a somewhat uncomfortable convalescence because her pregnancy means she cannot take painkillers. She is now hobbling about on crutches.

Notting Hillite Claudia Schiffer is helping holocaust survivors in Germany by giving her voice to a new TV campaign.

The German supermodel, who is expecting her first baby next month with hubby British film producer Matthew Vaughn, approached the charity Holocaust Memorial to offer them help in raising money for a permanent memorial to holocaust survivors.
