Jamie’s Bond girl - 02/07/03
Notting Hill based Jamie Theakston has finally got over his ex girlfriend Joely Richardson. He is now dating Bond girl Rosamund Pike.
Jamie was spotted in a clinch with the Hollywood movie star who is currently in London working in the theatre.
Jamie back with Joely - 16/04/03
Jamie Theakston is back with the lovely Joely Richardson - they were spotted on a South of France holiday holding hands.
It seems that Jamie has been forgiven for his late night brothel visit from last year - Joely was apparently smiling and laughing with Jamie as they strolled on the sands. The pair are staying at her mother Vanessa’s house in France, with Joely’s 11 year old daughter Daisy and her pal. Sounds very cosy!
Theakston latest role - 23/12/02
TV presenter Jamie Theakston has landed his first major role in a BBC TV drama. Earlier this year the former TV presenter launched a new career on the West End stage.
And now he has been cast as a city dealer who gets caught up in the murky underworld in BBC1 prime-time drama Murder In Mind.
Theakston, 31, will begin filming the show next month and it is expected to be screened midway on next year.
He recently had a brief guest role in BBC1’s Linda Green.
Jamie’s new role - 16/09/02
Jamie Theakston is taking his acting career very seriously and has decided to put all his energy and time into making it a success. After landing the lead role in the Somerset Maugham production Home And Beauty in London’s West End, he’s decided to put all his presenting jobs on hold, including Top Of The Pops and his Radio 1 weekend show.
We’ll be able to judge his acting ability for ourselves in the near future when he appears in the second series of BBC1’s hit comedy drama Linda Green - starring Liza Tarbuck - when he plays a salesman.
Jamie’s stage role is at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, and he’ll play alongside Alex Armstrong - of Armstrong And Miller fame - and Victoria Hamilton.
His last Radio 1 show will be on September 28 with the production of Home And Beauty opening three weeks later. He is due to go back to presenting early next year.
Jamie - the actor - 05/09/02
Following his success in Art, Jamie Theakston is going back to the West End - this time in Home And Beauty, a play by Somerset Maugham.
The play tells the story of a soldier who returns late from the First World War to find his marriage in trouble. Jamie is best known as a TV presenter but is determined to add more strings to his bow.
If at first you don’t succeed - 23/08/02
Lanky TV presenter and local boy Jamie Theakston doesn’t give up easily, it seems that his attempts to woo back Joely Richardson may be working.

Jamie started his career as a kid’s TV presenter, fronting pop culture show The O-Zone from 1989. He then went on to form a dynamic presenting duo with Zoe Ball on Saturday morning’s Live and Kicking. This would prove to be the job that catapulted Jamie in to the limelight. He went on to appear on Top of the Pops and The Priory, again alongside Zoe.
The TV job led to radio, with Jamie taking the Sunday Lunchtime slot on Radio One. He also broke in to acting with jobs in sitcoms such as Linda Green and Mad About Alice as well as appearing on stage in Art at the Whitehall among others. He remains a regular on televisions and presents a radio show for Heart FM alongside Harriet Scott.
Linked with actress Joely Richardson and singer Natalie Appleton, Jamie hit the headlines in 2001 when it was revealed he had visited a Mayfair prostitute whilst drunk. He apologised to his friends and family for the embarrassment he had caused.
Jamie now fronts Channel 4’s The Search.
