Kim: It's about the money - Nov 6 2007
Kim Cattrall has apparently revealed that the only reason she is doing the Sex And The City film is for the cash.
The actress, who plays man-eater Samantha Jones in the successful TV series and forthcoming flick, told Reveal magazine: "It will be nice to step into Samantha's shoes again, but I'm only doing it for the money.
"Samantha is very dear to me and I have such a wonderful time playing her, but I can say for experience than wanting financial security. We did it, we did it well. But it was always about the money."
She continued: "When I made a stand about not being in the movie because I thought the money was terrible, there was a backlash of very negative things from some of my co-stars. The role is very much a double-edged sword."
The blonde, 51, also revealed she is happy to see the character age.
"I really wanted Samantha to turn 50 in the film and she does, so I'm grateful for that. I'm glad she isn't hiding her age. After 50, you can still be a woman - you can go shopping, have friends and do lunch. At 50 - you can love and be loved."
Kim and Sarah are friends again - July 20 2007
All seems to be looking rosy again between Sex And The City co-stars Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The actresses, who play Samantha and Carrie respectively in the hit series, found their friendship deteriorated over the years, as the show became more successful.
They may have played best friends on-screen, but off-screen it was a different story with money and fame at the core of the problems.
As the lead character, Sarah Jessica was reportedly paid more than the others, causing tension between the women, and Kim’s popularity among the viewers and her exciting plotlines was said to have ruffled her co-star’s feathers.
"Now the women are pals again," a studio insider told In Touch magazine.
"Kim broke the ice by sending Sarah Jessica flowers to congratulate her on her clothing line, Bitten, and Sarah Jessica responded by sending Kim a few items from the collection."
It’s a good thing too, as production is expected to start soon on the much-anticipated film version of the show.
Kim rules out marriage? - June 14 2007
Kim Cattrall has revealed that she is blissfully happy with her new man - but it seems she has no plans to walk down the aisle for the fourth time.
The three-time divorced actress, 50, says boyfriend Alan Wyse, 29, is absolutely "terrific" but fears a formal commitment could jeopardise their present happiness.
"I am not going to get married and don’t think I will again," she told the Daily Express. "People say never say never, but when the piece of paper gets involved, sometimes it goes south. So I’m just having a lovely, lovely relationship."
Earlier this week, the blonde admitted she is "a little embarrassed" about the age gap between the pair.
In the last season of Sex And The City, her sex-mad PR character Samantha finally settled down with toyboy actor Smith Jerrod, played by Jason Lewis.
She said: "To be honest, I’m a little embarrassed about it because it’s so close to a storyline that Samantha had."

Leaving home at sixteen to pursue an acting career Kim found herself in New York, where she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. On graduation her talent was spotted and she signed a five year movie deal with Otto Preminger, a contract that was soon brought out by big bucks studio Universal. The deal saw Kim become a television regular and before long she found herself starring in the Oscar nominated Tribute (1980). More films followed and Kim soon found herself edging towards the comedy genre with parts in Porkys and Police Academy.
Real stardom came knocking in 1987 as Kim was offered the title role in Mannequin, however the success of the movie didn’t guarantee bigger and better roles and it wasn’t until 1991 and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country that she gained a cult status. Throughout the 90s Kim continued her relationship with the theatre appearing on stage regularly until 1997 when she was offered the role of Samantha in Sex and the City. The rest is television legend.
Despite rumours of rifts between Kim and other cast members a Sex and the City film was finally confirmed in 2007. In the meantime Kim has been working on stage, notably appearing in a West End production of Whose Life Is It Anyway and reportedly agreeing to a part in Desperate Housewives.
Currently dating actor Alexander Siddig, Kim has been married three times - to Larry Davis, Andre J Lyson and Mark Levinson with whom she published Satisfaction: The Art Of The Female Orgasm. She has also written two further books, Being a Girl and Sexual Intelligence.
