"I haven’t seen a television in weeks so I was just sitting there square eyed."

She said returning to Britain was the first time she’d felt "Christmassy" and was looking forward to her first mince pie.

And she added that she was "amazed" by the public’s reaction.

"I feel like everybody knows something I don’t because I haven’t watched the show yet but it’s been incredible. I got stopped at immigration and I nearly died wondering what it was, but they just wanted a few photographs."

She said that although she didn’t win, she felt like a winner because of the incredible experience she’d had.

"I’ve lost so many of my fears," she said. "I feel a bit invincible at the moment, really empowered."

She said if she saw a spider in the bath now it would be no big deal.

"It’s changed my life. I feel that I’m ready to go on a big adventure now. I’ve jumped out of a plane, I’ve picked grubs out of my ears, I can make you a brew from palm leaves. I feel like nothing can scare me again.

"After all I’ve been in a coffin!"

Myleene plummets to new depths - April 04
The former Hear’Say star isn’t depressed though, she has just become a certified deep sea diver!

Myleene won the certificate whilst on holiday in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean and said "It’s the best feeling ever to know I can now dive anywhere in the world whenever I feel like it. "I went for a wander in the sea on my own straight after passing my test. I went down to 60ft and felt really proud - but then I crashed into some coral, which was pretty embarrassing."

She went on to day that she plans to go diving in Cornwall with her dad Oscar, himself a former Navy diver, but that it might not be the same as ’these beautiful islands!’

Biography

Born in Norfolk in 1978 Myleene Klass shot to fame as one of the winning contestants of Popstars. As part of Hear*Say she had four top ten singles and two albums. However the success of the band was shortlived and following a spat between Myleene and Kym Marsh they split in 2003.

Rather than follow the usual solo path Myleene signed a deal with the jazz and classical division of Universal, releasing the album Moving On which explored her training as a classical pianist and peaked at number two in the classical charts. She has also presented CD:UK among other shows and appeared on stage in The Vagina Monologues.
