Bruno set for the big screen - Nov 1 2006
Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly signed a whopping £22 million deal to bring his comic creation Bruno to the big screen.
The comedy chameleon made the lucrative deal with Universal Pictures, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Bruno - an uber-gay Austrian fashionista who fancies himself as "the voice of Austrian youth TV" - first popped up in Sacha’s TV series Da Ali G Show.
The bottle-blonde character is seen travelling to trendy fashion shows all over the globe, where he pokes fun at guests and convinces them to make shocking comments about the industry.
He will be the third of Sacha’s characters to hit the silver screen, after Ali G and Kazakhstani reporter Borat.

He arrived on the red carpet in a wooden cart drawn by a mule, accompanied by 30 members of his peasant family and several barrels of fermented horse urine.

Bruno set for big screen debut? - Oct 27 2006
Following his big-screen version of Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen is preparing to unveil a brand-new character.
It looks like the comedy chameleon is is set to start work on a movie featuring uber-gay Austrian fashionista Bruno early next year.
In fact, the New York Post is already warning fashionistas of Bruno’s impending attack on the traditionally snooty New York fashion week scene in February.
Paul Wilmot, the fashion PR guru who was unwittingly interviewed by Bruno last year as part of Da Ali G Show, told the newspaper: "Bruno is one of the strangest characters ever to inhabit the planet. He will be an odd and welcome addition to New York Fashion Week in February."

The comic creation of Sacha Baron Cohen attended the British premiere of his new film.
The spoof journalist and "Kazakhstan’s sixth most famous man" arrived on the red carpet in a wooden cart drawn by a mule.
He brought along 30 members of his peasant family and several barrels of fermented horse urine.
Borat said he was hoping to meet Madonna after reading about her adoption of 13 month old Malawian boy David Banda.
"I have brought here with me my 11-year-old son, his wife and their new-born baby, who I am hoping to sell to singing transvestite Madonna," he said.
He is also looking forward to meeting the Queen, "although not for sexy time".
