Trudie praises Matthew - Sept 20 2007
Trudie Styler was one of the stars to praise the work of Matthew Williamson at his London Fashion Week show.
The producer heaped praise on the fashionista, whose celeb fans include Madonna, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.
She said: "He's the free spirit in the fashion world really, he's always been his own boss. His colours are wild, he's wild, I mean now you can see with age there's a little more sophistication, but still great flamboyance.
"Great sense of respecting a notable fashion house and breathing much needed life into it."
The crowd was delighted when Prince made an impromptu performance.
American Vogue editor Anna Wintour added: "I like the fact that his collection is a little bit more of an event with Prince performing and the celebrity factor so it was a lot of fun.
"I think one doesn't really come to London maybe for the most commercial side of fashion, you come to look at new designers. I think there's a fearlessness here that you don't find in the bigger cities, particularly when you look at designers like Gareth Pugh, who is pushing the envelope, which is a lot of fun for me to see."
Trudie’s anger over tribunal - May 10 2007
Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, said a tribunal’s ruling that they discriminated against their pregnant chef was an "unjust and unfair attack" on them.
The celebrity couple is facing the prospect of paying out substantial damages to Jane Martin after she won her sexual discrimination case against them.
A judgment from a Southampton employment tribunal said Trudie’s treatment of the 41-year-old chef was "shameful".
But in a statement the producer and actress said: "I am devastated that the tribunal’s judgment makes this unjust and unfair attack on Sting and me.
"It does not, we believe, reflect the facts which were put before the hearing and we will be appealing.
"Jane Martin was always treated well and generously as an employee and we remain stunned at her actions and at the verdict of the tribunal."
The Winchester-born chef was employed by the couple for eight years, cooking for people such as Madonna and Sir Elton John.
But she claimed to the tribunal that things started to go wrong when she became pregnant in 2005, and that Trudie was unhappy when she took time off work.
Trudie was alleged to have said: "Who the f*** does she think she is? She’s my chef in the UK. She needs to be available if I need her, or she should rethink her position."
Staff from the couple’s management company, Lake House Estate, which employed her, said she would be made redundant, but the process was unlawful. The tribunal panel said Trudie was behind the dismissal.
Trudie models fair trade tee - Sept 8, 2020
Actress Trudie Styler took a back seat from promoting her latest film - to model some fair trade fashion. The 51-year-old looked fantastic as she tried on T-shirts from the new clothing brand People Tree, which aims to support poor communities worldwide.
The new fashion label works with producers in 20 developing countries and pays them a fair price, so that workers are able to escape from poverty. And Sting’s wife Trudie, who is soon to star in family drama Alpha Male, was happy to help the fair trade organisation.

Sting was already married to his first wife Frances, and ironically it was Frances that met Trudie first - they both appeared in a Shakespear production of Macbeth. But Frances and Sting spilt up, and it was after this time that Trudie and Sting got together, even though they both received quite a lot of bad press during that period.
They are both keen environmentalists - and founded the Rainforest Foundation in 1989, a non - governmental organisation striving to save the tropical rainforests. It is clear to see that the pair are soulmates - and are loathe to go anywhere without eachother, in fact Sting has said once ’She’s the strong one in the relationship. I’m the dizzy blond!’
Trudie and Sting have been together since 1982, and finally got around to marrying on 22nd August 1992. They have four children together - Coco, Mickey (b. 1984), Jake (b. 1986) and Giacomo (b. 1995).
They live in Wiltshire, but also have their London base in Highgate, as well as a home in New York. Alright for some!...
