The sky over Holland Park is set to light up in
celebration of Her Majesty The Queen's Golden Jubilee at an amazing
fireworks display to take place on Friday 7th June.
The Royal Borough invites residents and visitors
to join in the fun at an evening of music and fireworks. The occasion
is just one of many events the Royal Borough has organised for the
Jubilee.
Spectators are encouraged to bring along a picnic,
relax and enjoy the free entertainment on offer. The evening is
due to begin at 8pm with the fireworks kicking off at 9.45pm.
The Royal Borough's other celebrations begin on
Sunday 2nd June with special Jubilee services at St. Mary Abbots,
Kensington at 11.15am, Holy Trinity, Sloane Square at 11am and other
churches in the Borough.
The Royal Borough's newly elected Mayor, Councillor
Professor Sir Anthony Coates, will attend the Holy Trinity service
before formally opening 'Fayre in the Square', an event taking place
in Sloane Square from noon.
A service of thanksgiving to celebrate voluntary
and public service will take place at St. Mary Abbots at 11.15am
on Sunday 9th June. On Tuesday 25th June the Royal Borough will
join in the celebrations at the West London Day at Bushy Park.
The final climax of the Jubilee will come as the
Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay passes through the Borough on Monday
15th July.
