Ali Dizaei, the senior ethnic minority officer based
in Kensington & Chelsea, accused of perverting the course of
justice and "misconduct in a public office", appeared in court for
the first time today.
Superintendent Ali Dizaei also faced eight charges
of providing false information in regard to mileage claims. He will
appear at the Old Bailey on 18 February - when it is understood
he will deny the charges of misconduct and perverting the course
of justice.
Mr Dizaei will appear at Horseferry Road magistrates'
court the day after, when he will be committed on the mileage charges.
Leaving Horseferry Road today, his solicitor said: "These matters
are going to be defended strenuously."
