Hangs Out in Kensington - 1st August 2001 |
|

by a rope from the roof of Marks and Spencer.
Apparently she was meant to be abseiling but such was the incredibly
slow speed of her descent it looked to me as if she was being lowered
by a rope ...

How to be a star in stripes 06/08/01 |
|
From candy girl to sailor boy, this season has seen
a strong appearance from our perennial favourite - stripes. Forget
camouflage prints and Grecian drapery - only a few trends are going
to make it to the end of the summer season, and right up there in
the lead is stripes. And this autumn sees pinstripes - in many different

Video Killed the Radio Star - And breathed life into fashion 06/08/01 |
|
MTV was born 20 years ago this month with the now
legendary airing of "Video Killed the Radio Star." In the last two
decades, the Buggles' tune has certainly proved prophetic. But what
that British band, and even MTV execs, couldn't predict was that
video would at the same time breathe life into the world of fashion.

Heels are down - Boots are in 06/08/01 |
|
It's a reigning irony of the fashion world: sweltering
summer heat waves mean it's time to start shopping for autumn. Stores

Laurent |

the capital of the fashion world in the Sixties. No one, in the
past 30 years of British fashion, could cut like Clark...

Barbara
Hulanicki started Biba by running a mail-order fashion operation in
1964 with her ad-man husband Stephen Fitzsimon. They felt that the

Kensington
Roof Gardens Re-open - 15/06/01 |
|
One
of London's most incredible party venues was the scene for a huge
"Richard Branson" bash last night high above the rooftops of Kensington.

Roof Gardens - that infamous private members club that most of us
can only dream about having access to on those rare balmy London evenings
- has reopened after huge refit.
