Ideal Home Show
homes exhibition March 9-April 1 2007 If paint colours, soft furnishings and Homes and Gardens magazine are your thing get down to Earls Court this March for the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show. Packed full of ideas for the home, from new design tips to gadgets for the kitchen, some of the most exciting designers and home companies exhibit here every year, attracting thousands of visitors looking for new ways to kit out their homes.
Show homes have been designed by some of your favourite TV designers and sponsored by DIY’s biggest names. With ideas for eco living the central theme of this year’s show is Sustainable Homes, with part of the exhibition totally transformed in to a mini town packed with information and design concepts. Three homes, the Urban House, Suburban House and Rural House show that sustainability is achievable wherever and however you live.
It’s not just about inside, outside is taken care of too with an expansive display of show gardens, while there’s plenty to think about at The Connected Home, proof that gadgetry needn’t only be for geeks and millionaires. As ever, Concept Products looks at the ideas that are set to change the way we live (if only a little bit), while the Room Sets and Interior Design Zone are the places for those of us who dream paint colours. Celebrity-wise expect to see Fearne Cotton, Ainsley Harriot and Carol Smillie doing the rounds while Colin and Justin are also working on the show, Oliver Heath and Craig Philips lend a hand at DIY Theatre and Nancy Sorrell hands out tips on becoming a domestic goddess.
And once you’ve exhausted yourself on new bathrooms, planting schemes and flat screen TVs head for the Indulgence Zone, where free manicures and make up consultations are on offer courtesy of Colour Me Beautiful.
