The Couture Gallery label was first launched in 2003 by Danish fashion designer Britta Kjerkegaard.

After years of working for top couture designers in Denmark, Italy and the UK, she has now opened an exclusive own label women’s wear boutique in the very fashionable area of Kensington in London, specializing in upmarket cocktail, evening and couture bridal wear.

The collections are inspired by the Scandinavian tradition of high quality, simplicity and elegance. This, mixed with a natural love of rich textiles, beautiful colours and an eye for detail, makes her signature look one of individuality and personal touch.

“…In a world dominated by mass market production, a very important quality for me is the unique look of a bespoke outfit”, the designer explains of her work and continues:
“… One-off pieces and limited editions are therefore an essential part of my collections”. Features include customized shirts, hand painted jackets and her trademark; the one-of-a-kind corsets, handmade from silks and laces.

The Kensington boutique is also home to The Couture Gallery Bridal Salon, where the designer herself is at hand to guide each discerning bride-to-be.
A personal made to measure service is given along with professional advice on materials, colours and styling, all vital ingredients in creating the perfect wedding dress for each individual client.

The Couture Gallery is open Monday to Saturday by appointment only.
