Siberia – Charlotte Hatherley
Release date: Out now
Format: Single
Genre: Folk
Our Rating: 2/5
Charlotte Hatherley’s previous single, Behave, was an instantly catchy tune with a guitar hook that burrowed itself in your head and refused to budge. But then you’d expect nothing less from the lady who gave Ash a hefty slice of girl power for so many years. Sadly, this follow-up is something of a snooze-fest. It sounds like a nondescript album track – the melody is droney rather than dreamy and the vocals are just lifeless, which is a shame because she can do so much better. Sorry Charlotte, but Siberia just left me cold.
