It’s been a long time since anything German has wowed the music scene and the wait continues.Falling into all the stereotypes of German music, this is water-downed thrash metal at some points and meaningless ballads at others.
There is nothing new or subtle on this album and illustrates that Germans may be rubbish at making music but they still thrash us when it comes to making beer or penalty shoot outs, I know which I would take.

Press Release:
When an artist from one of the most successful rock bands of today releases his first solo album, fans wait with bated breath. Richard Z. Kruspe, better known as the guitarist from RAMMSTEIN, Germany’s premier hard rock act, presents his new band-project EMIGRATE, whose eponymously titled debut will be released on the 1st September worldwide.
The track “My World” marked the project’s first foray into the public arena, and confirmed to fans and critics alike that while the sound is very much Kruspe’s own, the links with Rammstein remain strong. Judging by the response to this and other tracks, the album, on which Kruspe makes his debut as a lead singer, is awaited with some impatience.
“My World” found its way to the creators of the action/sci-fi blockbuster Resident Evil: Extinction starring Milla Jovovich (released in cinemas on November 23rd),. The song now features as one of the lead tracks, and a video has been shot with impressive scenes from the film playing as a virtual backdrop behind a performance by the band.
The first single from the Emigrate album will be “New York City” - Released 1st October. A track which highlights the strong influence the city has had on Kruspe, a resident there for almost ten years. Frank and open in its sound, inspired by the energy of its surroundings, “New York City” is a rock anthem, complete with female chorus. While it is one of the more commercial-sounding songs on the album, it should appeal to long time fans of hard music and new converts alike.
Given the English lyrics and the international nature of the project, the single “New York City” will be released simultaneously Europe-wide. The aforementioned “My World” will be the AA side and the single will also include the stunning “Resident Evil” Video. In addition, star Berlin producer and DJ Alec Empire (former frontman for Atari Teenage Riot) has created a sterling Electro-remix of “New York City,” and for die-hard fans there is the extra, non-album track: “Blood.”
