The Rakes – The world was a mess...
Release date: July 16 2007
Format: Single
Genre: British Indie/Punk
Our Rating: 4/5
The song title, 'The world was a mess but his hair was perfect' says it all: this is fun, funky, punky music at its best. The melodic guitar rift and the pulsing drum beats captivated me and I found it hard not to tap my foot and bop my head!
If you enjoy music from The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and even legends such as The Cure or New Order, I would most certainly recommend you check out this single. They incorporate all that fun, British punk bands should be. Named The Rakes as they are “as skinny as rakes”, helps to remind us all not to take things too seriously.
