You may squirm at her strangulated vocals, or raise an eyebrow at her eccentricity, but you have to raise a glass to Macy’s unquestionable talent. Stop. I just realise that this sounds more like a eulogy then an accreditation to Macy Gray’s album-oh well, moving swiftly on…
This album is a great comeback after a disappearing act of over three years, like rabbit out of a hat; Macy comes out with the goods in finesse and in friends. This album is as star -studded as a Camden-lite latched on to his nickel piercings…Fergie, Will.i.am and Natalie Cole all unite on BIG.
Flicking through the play list you will come to a halt at ‘Finally Made Me Happy’, once the sentimental lust wanes away, then you can bag it up with ,’Treat Me Like Your Money’ and (my favourite) ‘Shoo Be Doo’. BIG is a throwback of Motown glory, strands of Godfather, James Brown surfaces in ‘Ghetto Love’. This album has clumps of attitude and a dollop of fierceness energised by Macy’s signature grainy growl-BIG up this album. Amen.

Macy Gray is back with a new album entitled ’Big’. ‘Big’ has been produced by long time friend and super producer will.i.am (who has also worked previously with Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Busta Rhymes, Pussycat Dolls, Michael Jackson).
’Big’ is Macy’s first album in four years and is her first release for will.i.am music/Geffen Records who signed her late in 2005.
The album itself features guest appearances from Natalie Cole, Fergie, will.i.am, and a special guest.
