If, like us, you quite fancy yourself as the next Gordon or Nigella but just don’t know where to start or if you’re a bit of a whiz in the kitchen and looking for exciting new ideas in recipes, ingredients and gadgetry then the BBC Good Food Show is for you.

Every year thousands flock to the show to get hands on with cookery, pick up tips and take those hours spent in front of Ready Steady Cook to the next level.  The event is the biggest of its kind in the UK, allowing kitchen-ready ladies and gentlemen to enjoy great food first hand.  A real feast for the senses the various areas, events and sessions at the show are aimed at promoting good ingredients and great companies, inspiring wannabe chefs and sharing knowledge, with the highlight being the celebrity chef sessions where top restaurateurs and television personalities share their secrets and answer your questions.

The show is also an opportunity to indulge in some shopping (vital as we reach the festive season!) with brands that you might not find in your local supermarket on offer, chances to try before you buy and gadgets and accessories to give your kitchen that finishing touch on offer.  The World of Wine, Beer and Spirits also gives you an insight in to the world of alcohol that stretches beyond the optics at your local Hare & Hound.

2006’s highlights include appearances from Jean Christophe Novelli, Giorgio Locatelli and the big man himself Gordon Ramsay (get in quick for tickets!) as well as a focus on great British food and a few hints and tips for the festive season.  In addition you can abandon that diet for one day with a visit to the Tasting Theatre where you’ll be able to grab samples of sumptuous dishes, great ingredients and yummy drinks.  For foodie ideas, gifts and inspiration there’s no better weekend away!
