Reflexology is an ancient healing
art practised thousands of years ago in China, India and Egypt.
Rediscovered at the beginning of this century by an eminent American
surgeon, Dr. William Fitzgerald, it was developed by Eunice lngham,
in that 1930s, to become the therapy we use today.
Stress, illness, injury and disease
can upset the body's balance, thus inhibiting the natural healing
process. By applying gentle pressure to reflexes in the feet which
correspond to body areas, Reflexology can help the body regain and
retain its own equilibrium and begin to heal itself.
Reflexology treats the whole person
and not the disease and in this way can help most people of all
ages. The therapy is not used as a diagnostic medium nor does it
promise instant cures, but in most cases an immediate feeling of
relaxation is experienced.
