Bit of a 90’s hangout this one – but still hasn’t lost its unique sparkle. Located high above the streets of Kensington, The Roof Gardens are an extraordinary venue that boasts a hidden horticultural oasis looking out over the west London skyline, a rather fashionable restaurant, nightclub and private members club. The gardens themselves are truly lush, featuring Spanish, Woodland and Tudor areas, plus the odd flamingo thrown in for good measure.

"I went to the Roof Garden Restaurant and its night club last Saturday. The restaurant was really good: although the food was presented as a nouvelle cuisine dish, we all felt full at the end of the meal (but we were all girls!) The wine was very good too and the overall bill was very reasonable for London.
You do find pretty awful table service in England but I was quite impressed last Saturday. We got a discount on the entrance fee of the club which was a nice touch. Just as well because none of us enjoyed it: the music was very boring and not varied, 80% of the seats were reserved and the drinks were expensive (had more ice cubes than coke which I think is very mean).
Despite the music, the drinks and the posh customers, the setting was very good: can see outside while dancing, can go outside in the 1930's garden. Worth a visit just for that."

"We went out to Babylon for my boy-friends birthday. The view was amazing but unfortunately the gardens were closed. The atmosphere was very good, we had live music. But the food was a big disappointment.
My starter was made of raw asparagus. I wouldn't have minded it if it said so on the menu. My boy-friend had just warmed up scallops. But the steak was overcooked and covered in oil. Some dishes that we had were alright but so not worth the money.
I would suggest to go there for a drink instead of spending hundreds of pounds on poor food. It's a shame, really, as it would have been a great place."
